He is most well known for his close association with fellow animator/director Anno_Hideaki with almost all of Tsurumaki's directorial efforts involving Anno in some form. The two of them have worked together since Anno was still at Gainax where he often worked as a co-director on Anno's projects. Tsurumaki ended up going with Anno to his new studio, Studio Khara. Some of Tsurumaki's most well known works include FLCL, Top_Wo_Nerae_2 and Gundam_Gquuuuuux.
