Now Viewing: samael_(megami_tensei)Tag type: Character A large red demon in the form of a snake with many dragon_wings and blue_skin on its underbelly and the insides of his wings. In Judeo-Christian lore, Samael is regarded as both good and evil. it is said Samael was the serpent that tempted the first humans Adam and Eve to defy God. He was also attributed as the chief of Fallen Angels and regarded as the Angel of Death. Other interpretations have Samael as a force of good, specifically as an Archangel that destroys sinners. Samael in the Shin_Megami_Tensei series is almost always a mid to late-game demon boasting formidable magic and ailment skills inspired by his "Poison" moniker. He has not served as an especially plot relevant character in the SMT series, though is a main story boss and optional boss in Shin_Megami_Tensei_III:_Nocturne and Shin_Megami_Tensei_V:_Vengeance respectively. In Nocturne, he is the last major encounter in the Diet Building section, summoned by Hikawa_(megami_tensei) to kill Demi-Fiend. His signature skill, God's Curse, has an equal chance of inflicting either charm, panic, sleep, bind, or stun to all enemies. In SMTV: V, Samael is an optional boss if Protagonist_(SMTV) accepts a quest given by Mastema_(megami_tensei). Here, Samael also wishes to fight against the Protagonist as they are enemy to the Qadištu_(megami_tensei). Samael will use various ailment skills and summon copies of each member of the Qadištu as the fight progresses. Samael's in-game relation to the Qadištu is inspired by Samael taking Lilith, Naamah, Eisheth, and Agrat as mates.
