The Demi-Fiend was once a student (known as Kashima Naoki through the Drama CD) who went to see his teacher, Takao_Yuko, at the hospital with his two friends, Tachibana_Chiaki_(megami_tensei) and Nitta_Isamu. Soon after, the world was changed into a barren wasteland populated by demons. Naoki himself was transformed by Lucifer_(megami_tensei) merging him with a Magatama, an alien-like lifeform akin to a parasite. This drastically changed his appearance and gave him the power of a demon. With this new found power, the Demi-Fiend traverses the wasteland of a destroyed Tokyo. As Kashima Naoki, he has short black_hair, wears a black, blue , and white jacket, black shorts, and black sneakers. His Maniax design changes the jacket into a grey hoodie. As Demi-Fiend, he wears no_shirt which reveals the plethora of black tattoos highlighted in blue all across his body. His eyes turn yellow and a single black horn juts out from the nape of his neck. Demi-Fiend is a silent protagonist, and due to Nocturne's different endings and many dialogue options within, his personality differs depending on the player's choices. However, while each route ending is equally canonical in-game, the most common interpretation by fans and Atlus is Demi-Fiend having completed the True Demon Ending. This is seen in Shin_Megami_Tensei_V's DLC where his optional quest is titled "Return of the True Demon" and is referred to as the "King of Chaos", a title in Nocturne first attributed to Lucifer himself. In his interactions in Shin_Megami_Tensei_IV:_Final, Demi-Fiend is quick to anger and battle-hungry. He does not explicitly show it, but Demi-Fiend may carry an air of superiority as well. In his super boss encounters in Digital_Devil_Saga and SMT V, his battle theme is the Normal Battle theme from Nocturne and a remix of said battle theme respectively.
