Now Viewing: Pixie_(megami_tensei)Tag type: Character One of the most well-known demons in the Shin_Megami_Tensei series and in Atlus RPGs in general. Pixies are based on the mythical creatures of the same name in British folklore. They are usually small humans that wear pointed hats, have pointed ears, and wear green clothes that inhabit specific locations like stone circles or barrows. Some later depictions portray Pixies with wings and other without them. These creatures are a mischievous bunch who play pranks on people by getting them lost or kidnapping children. While similar, Pixies are distinct from Fairies as Pixies either possess a human origin and/or are distinctly connected to humans. Pixies love humans, and some have even married them. In SMT, Pixie has several different designs over the years. The first ever design in Megami Tensei had blonde_hair and four dragonfly_wings wearing a reddish-orange leotard and lavender boots. Her next design in SMT I gave her a blue highleg_leotard and matching thigh_boots and elbow_gloves. This design was inspired by Cham_Fau from Seisenshi_Dunbine. The PSX re-release's design shortened her hair, giving her the titular pixie_cut. Her dragonfly wings have also changed into fairy_wings. Pixie is seen in across every mainline SMT game and appears in several of its spinoffs, including every mainline Persona game. Her power level is just as consistent as her appearances, as across every game her starting level never reached higher than 8. Pixie serves as an entry-level demon_(megami_tensei) to understand the rules of combat and early demonic fusion fodder. Pixie lacks major plot relevance as well, often relegated to masses of background demons found in early game areas or the "Fairy Forest" area. However, Pixie breaks this distinction in Shin_Megami_Tensei_III:_Nocturne. In the beginning, the Demi-Fiend meets his first demonic ally in the form of a lone Pixie who teams up with him so he can lead her to her home in Yoyogi Park. When they reach it, Pixie thanks the Demi-Fiend and starts to leave, but asks if he wants her to stay. Should he want her to stay, Pixie stays a party member. This decision is highly important as in the lowest level in the optional dungeon of Nocturne, this Pixie can evolve into a "Super Pixie". She becomes level 80, every stat is 30 points, and learns powerful damage and healing skills. Because this Pixie is tied to the True Demon Ending and the Demi-Fiend is usually seen as if he completed this ending, a "Super Pixie" is at is side as well. She is seen in both super boss fights in Digital Devil Saga and Shin_Megami_Tensei_V and speaks for him in the latter. To fans, Pixie is seen as Demi-Fiend's close friend and partner, and perhaps moreso to others.
