Now Viewing: Zaku_IITag type: Character The poster child of the Principality of Zeon, the mass-produced Mobile Suit used by Zeonic forces during and after the 1-Year War of the Universal Century in Mobile_Suit_Gundam. The Zaku II is the second iteration of the Zaku line, developed from the MS-05B Zaku I. The first Zaku II (MS-06A) was a considerable improvement over the original. However, Kycilia_Zabi, daughter to Zeon's dictator Degwin_Sodo_Zabi, had the MS-06A cease production due to concerns of lack of close-combat weapons. This was corrected in the MS-06C Zaku II, coming with shoulder spikes and a heat hawk, a one-handed axe with a superheated edge. This design was again not sufficient and evolved into the MS-06F Zaku II, the Zaku design which popluated every Zeon base and became the cornerstone of several Zaku variations. Some variations eventually served as inspiration and/or basis for other Zeon Mobile Suits, including the MS-07 Gouf. Char_Aznable famously piloted a red MS-06S Zaku II Commander Type, said to be "three times faster than a regular Zaku".
