However, nocturnal emissions may happen any time during or after puberty. The emission may happen with or without an erection, and it is possible to wake up during, or to simply sleep through, the ejaculation. Though nocturnal emissions are commonly associated with men, women also have them. Despite the name, there is no evidence that wet dreams are connected to, or occur during, erotic dreams.
