The first OVA was released in 2002 and was popular enough to have a sequel released in 2004 titled Nurse Witch Komugi-chan Magicarte Z It features many of the same characters as The Soul Taker, with the same seiyuu reprising their roles, alongside characters unique to this series. As its title indicates, the protagonist of the series is Nakahara Komugi who was a comic relief supporting character in the original. In this series, she becomes a magical girl parody and cosplayer.
