She lived a peaceful life as the daughter of a wealthy and well-respected politician but she becomes embroiled into the ongoing war and politics soon after she meets Heero Yuy and her father is killed. She does not fight, but she grows into an important political figure and a brave and capable leader skilled at diplomacy. She also develops an interest in Heero and tries to reach out to him even though he threatened to kill her the first time they met and she plays a role in getting him to open up. As she rises in stature as a political figure, she strives for peace. She is based on both the original Gundam's Sayla Mass and actress Audrey Hepburn. Relena also physically resembles the latter and even wears a dress based off of one Audrey wore in the romantic comedy Roman Holiday. She is voiced by Yajima Akiko.
