Now Viewing: mario_tennisTag type: Copyright A sports spinoff of the Mario franchise. The first game debuted in 2000 for the Nintendo 64. The series is developed by Camelot, which also worked on Mario Golf and features music composed by Sakuraba Motoi. Like other Mario sports titles, the game features an exaggerated depiction of the sport in question with Mario characters and some characters unique to this series. The original game also had a Transfer Pak feature where players can transfer data from the Game Boy Color version of Mario Tennis to the N64 version. This was necessary in order to unlock all characters. This game also brings back Princess Daisy and Birdo who had been absent for roughly a decade. Both characters would become recurring characters in Mario spinoffs though Daisy's design would evolve into a more tomboyish one in comparison to her design here. This game also introduces Waluigi who would also become a recurring character in spinoffs.
