Now Viewing: sakagami_tomoyoTag type: Character A white haired serious girl who wears a headband. She is the student council president of Tomoya's school and a year younger than Tomoya. She is well respected by her female peers for her strength and cool demeanor. Sunohara can't believe a girl can be as good a fighter as she is and often challenges her to a fight, but she always defeats him easily in a humiliating manner. She does not care much for Sunohara, but she takes a liking to Tomoya and reveals to him her background and her insecurities. She used to be an angry delinquent and an infamous brawler with a troubled family life; her parents were constantly fighting and she took out the anger and sadness she felt on others. But after her younger brother Takafumi got into a serious accident, she and her parents decided to clean up their act and reconcile with each other. Tomoyo has decided to distance herself from her delinquent days and become a responsible student. However, Tomoyo has not become soft and her fighting skills remain superhuman. Although she does not have supernatural powers, she is able to juggle people in midair by kicking them rapidly. Her character is also an homage to fighting games in that she specializes in rapid-fire kicks, much like Street Fighter's Chun-li. Whenever she kicks Sunohara, a combo counter appears on screen counting the exact amount of times Tomoyo hits him. She became one of the more popular heroines of CLANNAD and an alternate universe sequel/spinoff called Tomoyo After starring her and Tomoya. Tomoyo After also features sex scenes unlike the original CLANNAD visual novel. Her story arc was not adapted in its entirety in Kyoto Animation's TV series adaptation of CLANNAD because it would contradict the other story arcs, but Kyoto Animation released an OVA titled Tomoyo Chapter, which omits the other girls and adapts the parts of the Tomoyo's arc that did not make into the TV series.
