Now Viewing: dr._eggmanTag type: Character Sonic's eternal nemesis. He is fat sunglasses wearing man with a large bushy mustache. He always dresses in a red top and a black bottom and wears white gloves. His appearance is inspired by the US President Theodore Roosevelt. Ironically, when the original Sonic game was being developed, his initial design was a potential concept for who would eventually become the series hero Sonic. While he has no special powers unlike Sonic and co, he is an intelligent man who makes up for it with his inventions and he is more athletic than he appears to be. He has created numerous mecha, vehicles, spaceships, etc. to do battle with Sonic. In the 2D Sonic platformers, he was technically the only boss besides Knuckles and Metal Sonic, since he would attack Sonic while piloting some machine of his own at the end of each Act. He is very much a mad scientist and is prone to cackling heartily when he thinks he has the upper hand. In the 3d Sonic game era, he had a bad habit of unleashing uncontrollable monsters on the world, but this tendency has subsided since Sonic Colors. He is voiced by Sato_Masahiro (SegaSonic the Hedgehog), Takaguchi_Junpei (Sonic OVA), and Ohtsuka_Chikao (Sonic Adventure onwards). In English he is voiced by Edwin Neal (Sonic movie), Deem Bristow (1999-2004), and Mike Pollock (2005 onwards).
