Now Viewing: nagisa_kaworuTag type: Character A mysterious white haired teenage boy with red eyes. He originally appeared in episode 24 of Neon Genesis Evangelion. Although he only made an appearance as the original series was drawing to a conclusion, he made a very large impression on many viewers and became an iconic character and one of seiyuu Ishida Akira's most well known roles despite his limited screen time. He is also single-handedly responsible for most of the homoerotic tension/subtext of the series due to the peculiar way he interacts with Shinji and Shinji's responses to him. Much like the series in general, his character has been interpreted in many different ways. In the original TV series, he is a seemingly friendly boy and seems to be the nicest person to Shinji. Kaworu's behavior is somewhat odd, but Shinji takes a liking to him and sees Kaworu as one of the closest things he's had to a close friend. Kaworu also becomes a fellow EVA pilot replacing a comatose Asuka Unfortunately for Shinji, the relationship he seemed to be building with Kaworu doesn't last. He is also in the Rebuild films and notably first appears earlier in the series chronology. He is one of the major characters of the third Rebuild film. He is voiced by Ishida_Akira.
