Now Viewing: white_devilTag type: General Tag refers to images that depict Takamachi Nanoha looking especially intimidating or sinister. White Devil is a popular fan nickname for Nanoha. The nickname originates from Mobile Suit Gundam where hero Amuro Ray and his Gundam were called that, but after Nanoha A's, it has come to be popularly applied to Nanoha. Another reason for the popularity of the nickname is because the Nanoha series took a lot of inspiration from mecha series and Nanoha herself is often considered to be a Gundam in magical girl form. The scene that inspired this nickname occurred in episode 9 of Nanoha A's. Nanoha is battling Vita soon after learning the Wolkenritter's true intentions. Nanoha and Fate attempt to solve the conflict diplomatically, but the Wolkenritter suspect the worst of Nanoha and Fate and attack them. During the battle, Vita yells at Nanoha not to interfere and unleashes an explosive attack but Nanoha emerges from the flames unharmed. Vita calls Nanoha a devil, and Nanoha responds, "It's okay if I'm a devil" [...] "I'll just use my hellish tools to get you to listen!" The famous "Cool your head" scene in Strikers is also sometimes referred to as a White Devil incident. Due to Nanoha's aggressive combat tactics and her unique way of making friends, some fans like to portray her as being bloodthirsty although she is friendly and sane person canonically.
