Now Viewing: ninja_gaiden_3_(xbox)Tag type: None Tag refers to the third Ninja Gaiden in the XBOX revival series by Team Ninja. It is directed by Hayashi Yosuke and Yasuda Fumihiko. The story is written by Kato Masato. It is the first main Ninja Gaiden game made after Itagaki Tomonobu's departure from Tecmo/Koei and was released in 2012 for the XBOX360 and PS3. The game has a notably different style from the past XBOX Ninja Gaiden games. It has a much more story driven focus, much like the NES Ninja Gaiden games and also establishes a more direct connection to the NES Ninja Gaiden games which are chronologically set after this game. It removes the Item Shop the past Ninja Gaiden games had although Muramasa is still present. There are also more action commands than the previous games and the game also humanizes the enemies by having them talk more, either by taunting Ryu or even expressing fear of him. The JSDF wants Ryu Hayabusa's help with dealing with a rising terrorist group named LOA. In fact, LOA specifically demand to see Ryu so Ryu is sent to London to deal with an attack there. Ryu comes face to face with a mysterious mask wearing man called the Regent of the Mask who puts a curse on Ryu called the Grip of Murder. Ryu's right arm turns blood red and Ryu feels incredible pain. The Regent informs Ryu that the curse will force Ryu to kill more ninjas to satisfy the bloodlust of the curse. If Ryu does not do so, he will die. The Regent, speaking for the LOA, informs Ryu that he and his organization want all the nations in the world to surrender within seven days or else they will destroy the entire world. The Regent escapes from the weakened Ryu and Ryu also loses the Dragon Sword. After recuperating, Ryu teams up with Mizuki McCloud to foil the LOA's plans. He also develops a relationship with Mizuki's mute adoptive daughter Canna, but Ryu and Mizuki soon learn that the minds behind LOA are closer to them than they realize. . .
