Toddlercon is gone.
Posted on: 01/23/13 11:54PM

Due to the types of communications being sent both publicly and privately within the site in regard to toddlercon and "confessions" that were being made, I have decided that we can no longer have such content on the site. Images will be deleted, any person who makes such comments will be reported, as usual, to the authorities and will be removed from the site.

This is not behavior we condone, nor will we ever. Our terms of service will update to reflect the prohibited content in the beginning of February.

I agree that the way Danbooru does it isn't the best way.

Danbooru does not delete anything. They just hide the art from people who are not privileged users. I think the more logical assumption is that it would be mass-deleted.

And a Mass-deletion is not the answer here. There is plenty of images in that tag which are not toddlercon, and a mass-deletion would be an awful idea.

Although I think this should've been brought up in the panel rather than over Skype.

WHAT.

Wouldn't it just be easier (Well, no, nuking it would be EASIER, but it wouldn't make much sense) to lock the comments section on these types of images and continue banning people that bring it up privately?

I've seen the same type of comments or WORSE on normal loli images, hell, one of the repeat offenders only posted on SAFE child images.

I don't even like the shit and I think anyone that DOES is a nutcase, but this is a bit much.

I get the feeling that this is another one of those things where you don't like it, so you voted with that instead of how it should have gone.

The result will likely end up the same, but can I request the February deadline get postponed until the other moderators get the chance to weigh in on this?

I like BB's idea. I'm not the biggest fan of toddlercon but I find many of the safe and questionable toddlers to be cute or adorable. As for the explicit ones, they may have the same shock value as many of the "what" posts but others might see them to be just as gross as overdone guro. I understand it's just a drawing but others take their imagination too far perhaps. I also don't like censorship in any form. (I tolerate Japanese by-law censorship but I don't like it.)

What I wonder is, if we ban this stuff, how far do we take it? Toddlercon is somewhat loosely defined both here and at Danbooru. Infant hardcore may seem obvious but Shin-chan (kindergartener) slapping Mr. Elephant's trunk around is just silly. Baby, preschooler, explicit, questionable...or will it be like guro where the moderators decide what too-far is, or maybe it will be like the photo tag where anyone who looks too young for school must be rating:safe, does kindergarten count, and so on.

I actually had nothing to do with it. I was asleep when lozer must've decided this.
