I'm just now learning about it, how did such a blatantly pedophilic anime ever get made into production?

I mean I'm not trying to sound like the moral police over fictional drawings or anything like that, but seriously, how did a whole nasty anime about sexualized literal kindergartners trying to make sexual advances on an adult ever get produced and broadcast on TV?

When I used to watch anime, that one was specially controversial, so I avoided it.

from what I hear (at least if I remember it right)..this show is about challenging the law on lolicon content..lolicon contents in the 2000s are all over the place,and often times it caused a stir on how we define anime in general.

its one of those rare shows where all the lewd fanart of the main girl genuinely doesn’t even compare to what the anime does (and it’s very unapologetically pandering to an insanely obvious crowd of people)

even the manga which while far less egregious about it is still like, unavoidable fetish writing. People shit on boco no pico and i mean, it’s fully deserved but i never see kodomo get anywhere near the same amount of flack

boko is straight up porn, say what you will but at least you know what you’re getting

kodomo feels like something that tries really hard to be the equivalent of the lolita novel in anime form yet ends up just being way more *winkwink ;)* fanservice than actual subversive media. Whether it was by accident or as an excuse I’ll probably never know.
