Now Viewing: ikamusumeTag type: Character Ikamusume or Ika Musume (Japanese: イカ娘, Literally "Squid Girl") is an anthropomorphic squid and the titular character of shinryaku!_ikamusume. She has come from the ocean to conquer the surface world in revenge for humanity polluting the oceans but is too childish and easily distracted to succeed. As she is from the ocean, she knows little about life in the surface world which often leads to misunderstandings. However, she proves to be fairly fast learner and is able to pick up things like English, playing video games, math, etc at a surprisingly fast rate. Ikamusume often laments that the skills she picks up are useless for conquering the world. She has several squid related abilities most notably the tentacles that protrude from her head which possess great strength, speed, skill and coordination. She can also squirt (delicious) squid ink, can glow, can move the fins on her head and breath underwater. She has long blue hair that function as tentacles and she is always wearing a hat. In fact, her life would be in serious danger if she were to take it off. She usually wears a white dress that is the same color as her hat. She is the object of Sanae's affection, which bothers her immensely due to Sanae's aggressive advances. Conversely, she likes Nagisa because she is the only person who's actually scared of her. Ika is terrified of Chizuru whose fighting abilities greatly exceed anyone else in the series universe. Chizuru makes Ika work at the Lemon Beach House to make up for the damage Ika caused during their initial confrontation. Although Ika repeatedly insists that she will conquer the surface world, she finds herself befriending her fellow Lemon Beach House workers and the customers who frequent the place. She is very fond of shrimp and ends the majority of her sentences with de geso~. She has a strong resemblance to Index from To Aru Majutsu no Index, a fact that J.C. Staff has picked up on, and mini Ikamusume has cameoed in a To Aru Majutsu no Index DVD special. She is voiced by Kanemoto_Hisako.
