Now Viewing: arlongTag type: Character A fishman who looks like a cross between a shark and a muscular human male. He is one of the early antagonists of One Piece. He is a Fishman with a deep hatred of humans and is accordingly extremely cruel in his treatment of them although he is more compassionate towards his fellow Fishmen. He murdered Nami's adoptive mother Bellemere right before Nami's eyes and has terrorized the people of Nami's hometown for many years. Nami hates Arlong, but she works for him in the hopes that she can earn enough money to pay and his men off. Upon learning of all the suffering Arlong had caused for Nami's hometown and especially Nami herself: Luffy, Zoro, Usopp, and Sanji vow to stop Arlong once and for all.
