I dont understand how Raditz never lasted in the series. He's Goku's brother for godsake and has a direct relation to all the family like Gohan, Pan, Goten, Bardock etc

They didn't have to make him stronger or even make him Super Sayian. Yes he was a weakling and a coward but it still took Goku's life to defeat him.

Despite being in only 3 episodes he's my fave character. I always use him in the games. Imagine if he used the Gravity ship or the Time Chamber

As great as DBZ is, looking back, a lot of potential it had was squandered. They could've easily done with Raditz what they do with practically all Goku's enemies and had Raditz eventually turn good, but I guess Raditz was just too much of a threat at the time for that to happen.
