The 'textbook superhero' didn't exist until him!

Not just that. I grew up with Lois and Clark as well as STAS, and more recently, Tyler Hoechlin's Superman doesn't appear often enough in the Arrowverse but he's a delight when he does! Basically, Zack Snyder is allergic to fun and so the DCEU version under him thinks he's Batman (while Snyder's Batman takes more after The Punisher than Batman) but there are a lot of good adaptations of him out there!
