As the first champion, Blue/Green is one of the most difficult due to his balanced and diverse team
Honestly, I didn't care for Lance since he was the original arrogant Dragon Trainer and I didn't like how he was a member of the Elite Four in Kanto only to become a Champion in Johto.
Steven was an acceptable Champion for Hoenn due to his variety of Steel Pokemon making him somewhat difficult to beat.
Wallace was a waste of a Champion. Because he specializes in Water Pokemon, he was way too easy to beat.
Cynthia was the first female Champion with a powerful balanced team which sparked her instant popularity.
Alder was a strange one and its apparent that he specializes in Bug Pokemon, though it was said that he did not earn the title of Champion as he was just asked.
Iris, our favorite little Dragon Trainer, goes from Gym Leader to Champion.
Diantha is a beautiful and strong Champion, granted she would've been a greater challenge had the EXP ALL not overpower our opponents.
The next Champion is... YOU!

What made Iris so tough as a Champion was she actually gave her Pokemon items.
Archeops has a Flying Gem and Acrobatics, which DOES stack and does triple damage.
Haxorus has a Focus Sash which means you CAN'T one-shot it. If you try, she just gives it a Full Restore and the Sash resets. It is hell.
Salamence has a Life Orb, enough said.
There were even medals you could earn if you could defeat her using only one type of Pokemon and/or only one Pokemon (With 30 opponents, this is incredibly difficult even for White/Black Kyurem). I got all 18, but it was a hell of a challenge, and that's why I loved it.
