They were originally gonna do Ophanimon, but decided to go with Magnadramon cause they knew the Digimon fanbase was 80% furries.

Ophanimon would have been better. Magnadramon was okay, but they should have stuck with the angel theme.

Actually, Anon #1420204, Digimon like Cherubimon and Magnadramon are closer to the angelic ideal, than humans with white wings.

That image - winged humanoids - is a fairly modern idea: Either angels look entirely human or are totally non-human.
