Nobody has to do anything better than anyone else to criticize something. I bet you review or critique books (going by your username), and I doubt you write books. I bet you even listen to music, and have said x or y song is good or bad. You can't tell me that every time you've criticized something that it was something you've done better. That's literally impossible.
The whole "I'd like to see you do better" is meaningless in a discussion when it comes to someone critiquing something, since you don't need to be able to do it yourself to critique it. It comes across as childish and overly defensive.
