I found all the proper katakana, hiragana, and kanji and put them in notes to make it easier to copy and paste, but I just couldn't make sense out of a translation without some context.

Thank you Rivercat for your work, however you missed a katana, this had me confused till I realized it. (you missed 'sa')
the katakana says sazanamitaun, or sazanami town basically.
Anyway I just need to pick out the basics now, I have a rough of what it means now though.
The first line is something along the lines of
"It is a little bit early summer Sazanamitaun"
second line says
"It was an event at the Villa Cattleya"
this is rough with google translator, I will actually work out a good translation later.
However seeing as there is a villa in sazanami town(different name in english) and things happen there specifically in the summer, its going to have to do with that obviously.
