For those who don't know about FF9 (what the fuck) already, they can be considered as siblings because they were created for the same purpose; except that kuja (and zidane, of course) have souls, and mikoto doesn't.

Mikoto DOES have a soul, she even said so in the game! She was given a soul after Zidane just in case Zidane failed his mission.
