@anon 5, The Y chromosome is not going anywhere. New research has been done it and found out that genes that were actually considered "junk" has a vital role in to repairing the Y chromosome. The Y chromosome has its own self preservation system if you will. Because there isn't another chromosome to exchange genes with. The Y is more complex than we are led to believe despite it being significantly smaller than the X chromosome.
