I think in this situation, radiation poisoning is less of a danger than straight up burns. Radiation is pretty damn hot, you know.

Ionizing radiation has little to do with heat, the cellular damage that high levels of exposure can cause often looks like a burn, on the surface, anyway. An actual burn isn't very likely unless she is trying, or excited, etc. However, cancer of the junk is a potential problem.
