jedi1357 - Yeah. Right. Picture that. Funny that it was the USAF who refused a one-on-one mock dogfight with the Sukhoi (in particular the -27, which wasn't as advance as the -37 shown here). Maybe becasue they knew they would get their asses handed to them.

Well that street goes both ways if the USAF wanted to just win the mock dogfight they would us the F-22 Raptor, but they want to keep its capabilities as secret as they can. On the other hand any planes without thrust vectoring would probably lose against the 27 and that would be bad for publicity so they just gracefully decline.

Pitting it against the F-22 is apples-and-oranges, mind you...two completely different fighter generations. Much like comparing the MiG-15 with the Vought F-8. Since the F-15 and Su-27 are of the same gen, that's a fairer comparison.
Realistically you should be pairing the F-22 to the Sukhoi T-50, since they are of the same generation.

Both of those are just extensions of the Su-27 (the Berkut being an over-the-top redesign), so...wrong gen for comparison.
