The US need equivalent festivals with traditional garbs like this. But the US is history is relatively too short and new. Not to mention the country is kinda big.
I wonder judging form the latest chapter if Keima has a 'goddess' within him. Of course, he could just be sick...

Meh, he is just sick.
It wouldn't be funny if he had a god/goddess inside of him, because then he wouldn't be a normal (more or less) person who had achieved everything on his own. And it wouldn't be a story centred on his character development.
