@ Lurkerella: I also find it unsettling how he's the ONLY rival without any parents. Silver has Giovanni, Wally has parents in Petalburg, Brendan/May have Prof. Birch, Jun/Barry has Palmer, and Cheren and Bianca have their own parents. Then we have the player characters who at least have a mom.

Which brings up a question: Does Green act the way he does so he could cover up the insecurities of not having parents? Or is he just a jerkass because he can?

@980815 I always thought he needed to cover up his insecurities.

In Zensho his parents were revealed to die in a car accident when he was little, I'm not sure if all Green counterparts (anime included) parents died the same way, but it's most likely.
