Maybe they didn't want it to "reveal" to much? Sort of like when Mortal Kombat & DC did their mix-up without the fatalities being there (DC didn't want their wonderful characters being mauled to pieces; by the way love the newest MK game & SSF4 AE).

In Namco's defense, Ivy's outfits were getting a little ridiculous. By SC5, she would've been fighting in a string bikini if they didn't draw the line somewhere.
