True but ironically with the exception of their mutant abilities their motives and actions are not very different then that of normal humans who have let darkness rule their hearts and minds.
The anti-mutant sentiment in the comic-universe is just the typical human reaction to something that makes them uneasy or conflicts with whatever their personal biases are.
After all human history has shown that even within itself humanity seems to love dividing itself into little groups who may or may not be at odds with each other.
Mutants technically can fall outside of the human category even if its sort of on a technicality and lets face it if we're assholes to each other then we're gonna be even bigger pricks to non-humans.
