I'm not sure if it should translate as, "Would you like to die all at once?" or "Would you like to try dying just one time?" or something similar. Anyone who knows Jigoku Shoujo know if this is a reference to a line in the show?

If the text exactly says: "ippen... shinde miru?", then the appropriate translation would be: "Would you like to try dying this once"?
That's the translation they used in the Anime all the time.

I always thought that it was written with the kanji of "death" (死) and "see" (見) instead of simple hiragana (し,み) . However, the correct translation must be something like "Would you try to die this once?"

In the translation i watched they always wrote 'Would you like to see the death with your own eyes?" But i guess the other translations are more legit.. XD Anyway..
