Don't give the protagonists names... fucking weeaboos.
They were designed to be the player's avatar. Your actual self inside the game.
Giving them names kills the whole purpose.
No names on the original games means no part of the cannon.
STOP CALLING THEM "OFFICIAL" NAMES, THEY DON'T HAVE ONE.

the official names originate from when the games get adapted into media where that isn't possible
minato from the P3 manga and yuu from the P4 anime

Um.. I'm pretty sure the insistence that they should remain nameless just because they were in the original version, ignoring any and all adaptations, is the more "weeaboo" way of thinking here.

Minato DOESN'T have an official name, technically. It was just given as a formality in the manga. Yuu's name can be treated as canon however. It was used in the official anime and in the latest fighting game.
