At first I was like: "Eww..."
Then I was like: "Err... Wait a sec..."
Finally I was liie: "No doubt... There's something weird about the direction shit is coming from/going to"

You wont see this sort of quality in today's anime :D.

Anon3: That's probably because this IS that scene from Battle Royal High School.

Is this being played forward or backwards?

To explain this a bit. The main hero/demon lord is using his awesome powers to reassemble a girl who was absorbed by a horrific monster.

Its pretty badass.

So disgustingly anatomically accurate. It always surprises me to see graphic depictions of things in film or animation much older than certain decidedly less graphic things you could see today. Think of this, that guy's face getting crushed in Macross, the little girl's head getting blown off in Ideon, all of Robocop, much of Terminator, The Thing, even Nausicaa with the God Soldier's melting decaying body or people being burned alive, and that's just the Scifi side.

That's just weird to me, makes me think the world had such a passionate lust for raunchy human mutilation in the two decades before I was born.
