The swastika, and similar symbols, show up in a lot of cultures, none of which are Babylonia and none of which represent fertility to my knowledge.

It's Sanskrit, not Babylonian.
Also Nazis (dem bastards) used a mirrored version of the symbol (I forget whether it was left facing or right facing) so if you know the details of this you can tell whether or not it was intended that way.

The text before the Japanese Kanji said P-51.

This is a USA fighter plane. USA fighter pilots painted a mini swastika on their plane for each German airplane they shot down. It's called a Kill-Tally.
