A dokusha moderu (読者モデル - reader model), or dokumo (読モ) for short, is an amateur model, usually someone like a student, office lady, or someone whose main job isn't modeling. Dokumo also tend to be of average height, as opposed to traditional fashion models that are taller than average. In general, the appeal of dokumo is that readers are more easily able to relate to them.
