To be honest, APNG's arent a viable format, and it's been proven that AJPEG and GIF are better due to the very high processor usage it takes to render APNG compared to others.

yeah, only ajpeg is not supported by anyone and gif can't into alpha channel and more than 256 colors.

We could do so much awesome and simple things if only we had ability to use animated images with alpha channel. Well, mb at least canvas or svg will get good support.
