Disc 1 Ramsus was ridiculously badass. Even if he couldn't win an (outnumbered) fight against Fei and company he would out-strategize them and think rings around them, they'd wind up winning the battle but losing the war. He came within a hair of taking Fei's life before Elly Deus Ex Machina'd out of it with Aerods. Then he defeated and nearly killed Fei and Elly again with his Omnigear, wounding them so badly they had to be healed in nanomachine chambers. It wasn't until Fei started getting OP equipment on Disc 2 that the tables were turned, and even then the final battle against him is considered one of the hardest in the game. The emotional abuse the Gazel Ministry and Miang heaped upon him and his subsequent breakdown is what makes people think of him as a weakling, but his achievements in the game were anything but. They called him 'trash' but none of their other goons did any better and they were really just saying it to emotionally manipulate him for their own ends.
