This is a reference to the original Prometheus of Greek myth, who was doomed to be chained to a cliff while his liver was repeatedly eaten by vultures for sharing the secrets of fire with man (in this case it's an engineer having its insides eaten by a proto-facehugger).

ThatOtherGuy, I don't know why people refer to them as 'proto'. Did you not watch Alien? The space jockey ship has been on LV-426 for thousands of years, confirmed by John Hurt's character. As in the facehugger eggs and xenomorph already exist, thousands of years before Prometheus takes place.

This is just a botched, stupidhugger.
