It's been stated in the manga that Orihime is very intelligent. But that's in a school and testing setting, not in real life.

But at the same time, Orihime never came across as stupid. She's kinda goofy and weird, and suffers from heroine syndrome (just stands there and waits like a good girl for the hero to do shit), but I never sat there and said "Yeah, she's an idiot."
