Nitori on the left is assigned male. Takatsuki on the right is assigned female. From what I've read in the manga, it's really good. Nitori and Takatsuki are transsexual (the sex of the individual doesn't match the gender they identify as), though I've heard Takatsuki turns out to not be transsexual by the end.
