Unfortunately this won't happen as long as Inafune is not part of Capcom. I'm happy that he gets to pursue his own vision, but damn X8 really left a major cliffhanger there at the end.

The closest we MIGHT get is the Mega Man comics by Archie. Depends on how far Capcom will give them the OK in terms of writing a story.
