Strictly speaking, they would be; they'd have twice the ability to pass on any beneficial genes to successive generations while diluting negative ones, and twice the ability to reproduce in general.

They'd out-breed AND out-evolve us (especially given how many of us would completely swear off regular humans if they were real).
