That doesn't bug me, what does bug me is how the news only focuses on the negative shit to try and demonize video games and everyone plays them or makes them. You'll never see a story about something like this where an admittedly fan servicey but solid (and fun!) fighting game raised money that will go to helping save lives.

Nobody cares that this went to breast cancer. They only care as an afterthought. They donated like crazy because they wanted their game to be at EVO. They were doing it because they cared about the game getting into Evo first and foremost. They only feel good about donating to breast cancer in retrospect because it's a benefit of their donations. They're helping cancer patients as a side effect of their selfishness; not necessarily their intention.

Anon7 - You're arguing against rampant human apathy, as well as the effects of a successful marketing ploy. People are selfish to begin with, which is WHY organization like this have to resort to such campaigns to get people to notice, or to just have more people to notice.
And you know what? It worked! Who'd a thunk it!?!
So unless you have a more 'morally acceptable' way of raising such awareness and funds, and can prove that it WORKS, please refrain from such gripes and enjoy the fact that funds were raised for this effort.
