Erica not wearing shorts here reminds me of season one episode 7 when she doesn't wear any panties for like the first five minutes. I guess if strike witches had pants/shorts they'd be wearing something like what's shown here and Erica would have been wearing panties only in episode seven of season one.
Also is anyone else who watches strike witches (and knows about the other witches in the SW universe) find them only having panties and stockings normal for you to see and you are now totally or near totally unfazed by seeing them in their underwear? At this point I am no longer fazed at all by seeing any of them in their underwear (I also think it is thanks to this show that I have become desensitized to seeing other anime girls in their underwear as well) and I have suddenly become very curious to know if this has also affected other longtime fans. please post below.

I Concur. I've only watched the original sw, but I didn't know there's more!! Can you list more series below. As for being desensitized of them in Underwear, I'm the same. It takes the fun out of "panty shot".

There's Strike Witches 2, and the movie. There's some manga and light novels too.

Honestly at this point the lack of insignia and general impracticality of (some of) the uniforms gets to me more than them not having pants.

I mostly ignored the "no pants" thing both for fanservice and practicality reasons, as I myself have had trouble with calf-high BMX boots that are comparatively trivial when compared to a thigh-high Striker, but still prove a challenge when trying to put them on with full-length jeans.

However. Looking at this image makes me wonder why they didn't just adopt shorts similar to what Rin Kagamine wears (barring fanservice). And when it comes to actually flying, they'd be about as obstructive as bare panties, while their form-fitting nature would ward off any perverted teammates who would rather stare at panties than scan the skies. As for more modest witches, looser shorts akin to Len's might be an option if they don't flap around too much.
