Interesting comparison. It's abnormal for a sketch artist to drift from a full, colorful approach to something a little more stylized. It would be hard to tell which piece came before or after, were it not for the shading in the second half of the portrait. This acts as the variable here, accurately displaying the artist's skill over this period of time. Still, this is quite jarring.
