^ I doubt he could recover. While technically being an "angel", Kaworu was more of a human being containing the soul of an Adam. Basically, he was the genderflipped version of Rei.
In any case, I suspect that wasn't the last time we'll see Kaworu alive. He did tell Shinji they would "meet again", and he hasn't lied to us yet! (Then again, maybe he meant, "It seems this time went just as badly as last time. We'll meet again after the next Universe Reset.")

Yea. While maybe Kaworu hasn't lied yet, I'm sure Anno will take 4.0 on an even more rediculous tanget; 50year time skip, unit-02 will be the Liger from Zoids, the "final impact" will be the XXth impact, Gendo will have solar-ray eye powers, Wille and Nerv will be run exclusively by Rei clones, and Asuka wll have reverted to a 5year old due the Cuuuuuuurse of Evaaaaa "t(-_-"t)
Point is, I doubt we'll see Kaworu again.

Yea. While maybe Kaworu hasn't lied yet, I'm sure Anno will take 4.0 on an even more rediculous tanget; 50year time skip, unit-02 will be the Liger from Zoids, the "final impact" will be the XXth impact, Gendo will have solar-ray eye powers, Wille and Nerv will be run exclusively by Rei clones, and Asuka wll have reverted to a 5year old due the Cuuuuuuurse of Evaaaaa "t(-_-"t)
Point is, I doubt we'll see Kaworu again.

A "meeting" via instrumentality or maybe a re-use of Eva-13 might be possible...if we consider that the Kaworu "ghost" seen when Shinjis plug left Eva-13 a possible hint that something of Kaworu was still inside the Unit at that point. Becoming part of it á la Rei II, mayhaps?
On a different note: Kaworu did either outright lie or omit facts, at least to Shinji, when he told him about Third Impact, how it went down, and what his own role was. In fact, he didnt even mention SEELE, although he was clearly quite closely connected to them. So yeah...there IS something rotten in the state of Kaworumark.
