^Because the upper set of "balls" a knot. Dogs do that when they're really aroused, to keep themselves inside of their mate while their sperm gushes into them. Dogs are rather strange, they keep releasing sperm for much longer than most mammals, and then to try and ensure impregnation they get knotted in the female, staying stuck inside of them until their erection subsides.
