in theory, but the weapon class is Long Sword. which, illogical as it may be, includes a number of scythes, and tends to call obvious broadswords "katana" in various cases.
also, "daikatana" would mean "large/great sword", so uh... yeah. in the first monhun games they were part of the greatsword class, but got split off to have their own behaviour as of the second gen games. </nerrrrrrrrrrrrd>

Incorrect. The correct term would be Nodachi, There are, nor have there even, been a style of sword known as a Daikatana in history, aside from a few cases in video games (The earlier Elder Scroll games, Arena and Daggerfall most notably, and the infamous game that shares it's title with this fictional weapon, Daikatana)
